Logo contest for the NETWORKJune 19th, 2010 To download the application form, please click here A competition is launched to create the logo that will promote the Montreal Urban Aboriginal Community Strategy NETWORK, a contest that targets submissions from the Aboriginal artist and culture community in Quebec. In addition to the future notoriety of the logo, the artist or graphic artist will have the chance to win a prize of $500.00 offered by the NETWORK.
Information on the NETWORKSince 2008, several Aboriginal organisations and partners have worked together to develop the Montréal Urban Aboriginal Community Strategy NETWORK. The vision is to improve the quality of life of Aboriginal people who live in the greater Montréal area. The main goal is to strengthen the organisations working with the Montreal Aboriginal population and their activities to help create tangible and sustainable improvements. There are six working committees who participate in a collaborative manner to build a strong NETWORK : Health, Social Services, Communications, Education - Training - Employability, Youth and Art - Culture, in addition to the Steering Committee. Information on the logoThe logo should symbolise and represent the essence of the NETWORK. Therefore, the elements that represent First Nations, Inuit and Aboriginal peoples, in addition to symbolic or iconic references to Montreal should be included. The originality of the visual aspect as well its pertinence will be evaluated. The logo should have the ability to be used with several languages and applicable to several mediums (web site, e-mails, hard copies, projection on screens, etc) and in different formats from small to large in addition to colours, including black and white. As well, the submission (by Canada Post or electronic) will include a descriptive summary of the logo and a brief presentation of the artist or graphic artist. The closing date of the competition is July 23, 2010 (0h00). For electronic version submissions, the documents should be submitted in Acrobat Adobe PDF and include a 8.5 x 11 copy and a letter head example. Good luck and may the inspiration be with you!
